Robert Lafon

Robert Lafon qualified as a family psychotherapist in 1994 after eighteen years of work with children and families in a number of settings, as an art therapist and social worker.  He has taught and clinically supervised colleagues across the range of child mental health professionals – some in training as family psychotherapists.

He is a registered supervisor with The Association of Family Therapy, and has presented workshops and lectures on systemic psychotherapy, child and adult mental health and eating disorders, nationally and internationally.

He has undertaken commissioned work for the Courts through the Institute of Family Therapy and, over the past ten years, directly for solicitors and care organisations. He has worked for eight years in a national eating disorders inpatient service for young people within the NHS, organising and leading a multi-family group programme there and recently training other teams in setting up their own groups.

He leads a second year training in systemic family therapy and continues a private practice in Kingston Gate Therapy.
